Our practice has been a part of the Canberra Community since 1986, with a second generation of patients now experiencing the benefits of our treatment first-hand. Our physios are knowledgeable and experienced, able to quickly understand their patients’ problems and apply the most appropriate treatment and management strategies.
Postgraduate education is a feature of our practice: between us we have four Graduate Diplomas in Manipulative Physiotherapy, two Graduate Diplomas in Pain Management and one Masters of Physiotherapy.
We’re proud to have the only Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in Canberra, Jac Cousin. Becoming a specialist is a three-tiered process through one of the recognised Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) clinical groups. This process involves many years of additional educational and professional development activities, followed by a two-year training program that includes clinical experience and facilitated clinical development. Jac had to demonstrate an advanced level of clinical practice, evidence of a commitment to education, and active participation in research activities. At the completion of his training program, Jac completed final clinical and oral examinations, entitling him to be admitted to the Australian College of Physiotherapists (see http://www.physiotherapy.asn.au/index.php/join-the-apa/career-pathway-and-specialisation). Only members of the college have the right to use the title ‘Specialist Physiotherapist’.
All of our physios regularly attend conferences in Australia and overseas to keep up with the most up-to-date research and techniques, ensuring their continuing education in evidence-based medicine. As a group of highly trained professionals, we have the privilege of sharing each other’s clinical knowledge and expertise.

We have a great relationship with a number of other health providers who’ve seen the excellent results physiotherapy can have for their patients. Many of our clients are referred to us by a number of orthopaedic surgeons in the Canberra Orthopaedic Group, as well as by general practitioners and other health care providers. We also regularly visit patients at Calvary John James Hospital who need the rehabilitation services we can provide.
